Convention Coverage: Britcon - Sunday Finals
After Saturday's pub night Sunday's final games helped define the winners.

The final day at Britcon was an epic - especially for those who manged to get to the pub quiz the night before!
The quiz this year made its own "headlines" with the introduction of a new special "Airfix" round - pretty much every UK Wargamer over a certain age started playing with UK manufacturer Airfix's 1/72nd scale World War II plastic figures, and (inspired by an idea in Harry Peason's book Achtung Schweinhund) the quizmaster induced eight game-for-a-laugh gamers to re-enact the poses of a variety of Airfix soldiers for the benefit and amusement of the crown - they then had to guess which set the poses were from! Suffice to say, some of the poses were not the most easy to recreate - though nearly everyone recognised some classics such as "British 8th Army man leaning forward holding mine detector" and "German infantry throwing stick grenade"!
Field of Glory games.
Throughout the day the volume of trade attendees was again good, and traders seemed to think the buyers on Sunday were more serious than those from Saturday - the "bring and buy" (which is I guess a managed and administered "flea market" in US terms?) also was pretty much cleared out.
In gaming, as usual not that many of the overnight leaders ended up finishing the competition in the same spot, and generally the games became tighter affairs as the effects of a long weekend, a heavy night and the bunching together of "good" players under a Swiss draw system started to all take their toll. The full roster of results was as follows:
Ray Duggins, winner of one of the Sportman prizes.
