Medieval II: Total War Screenshots

SCREENSHOTS FEATURE posted on 14 SEP 2006 by Sean Drummy

Swoon!

Creative Assembly has released a small but gorgeous batch of screenshots for their sequel to the immensely popular turn-based/real time strategy blend Rome: Total War, titled Medieval II: Total War. This latest installment to the long running series is expected to substantially enhance the already impressive Rome: Total War 3D battle engine with a variety of better graphics and better looking battle animations.

In addition, the gameplay is expected to drastically improve with new features like a new epic campaign, where players can explore three continents and sail across to the Americas to confront the Aztecs on their home soil. Also included is a new settlement progression system where one can build through six levels of settlement ranging from humble villages and vast cities to wooden forts and stone fortresses. And what good Medieval game would be complete without a dose of instigation and political dealing from the Pope? Players must make a choice throughout their tenure on the European continent as to whether they want to work with, or against the Papal States, with a variety of pros and cons coming with each decision.
